    He pulled the dist to put a module in it or something and got it one click off putting it back.

    I always grab the timing light after pulling a distributor and putting it back.

    I can't imagine being that confident in my work to not recheck the timing after pulling the distributor!

    I bet that's a "one time only" mistake.
    The chances of him repeating that mistake are minimal....
    It's amazing how fast we humans are capable of learning if it involves the loss of time, money or inflicts pain.
