Appreciate the heads up. I'm swapping to manual brakes and 4 wheel disc as I go on this thing. The 4 wheel drum brakes that's on it was done all new 3 years ago just don't think they are gonna do it with the new found power.

Mounts are having to be redone. I left the cam shells out until I had everything close then I was gonna drop them in and make sure everything clears the hood and core support. My neighbor is picking me up some 1 inch round tubing so I can build a new core support it. I have an old one that's gonna give up its life so I can retain my head lights.

With the stock clamshells my truck intake clears the hood BARELY. I'm using the modified truck pan and notched the crossmember for some cushion. I am going to shave my extra intake down for that extra inch of clearance.

The nnbs intake is a tad taller. If I have to use the early style intake for clearance I will but I'm trying to make use of the better parts I've already aquired. Thanks for the heads up on the intake and oil pan issues.

I bought these adapter plates hopefully they won't have the engine too high. Darn nice engine plate adapter for $29.99 shipped! JD

I have a set of these already. Just need to mount clam shells to them. Also considering doing solid mounts.

Swapped the pan on to the 4.8 and started bolting everything together tonight. I'll have it in the frame rails tomorrow. I still need to drill and tap the pan but can't do that until drain lines are in place.

Got the motor in today. Started mounting turbos and stuff until I broke a vband for the header to elbow. Gonna keep plugging away at other stuff for rest of the day.

put some water on the band and tap the band with a pc of wood while tightening.
I learned this on a 24" ss pool filter case. It took a while the very first time I put it together. Tighten, tap tap tap, tighten, repeat
It leaked of course so I had to take it a part and clean it. I was lazy and tried to just inspect it w/o doing anything else to it. The lips and band had got dirty so I grabbed the hose to rinse it off.
It went together 2-3 times faster with the water on all the surfaces.
