It's gonna make power. This is the car I was talking about 3 days later when the throttle stuck.

5.80s is movin'! That's close to an 9.1-9.0 pass. The glide will definitely calm the car down and make it easier to drive. Bet it'll be close. Good luck. Keep us posted.

I'll be posting updates as I go. Bought rod bearings today so I should be able to finish the engine this week. Been busy trying to get the tow pig up and running with out robbing a turbo for it. Basically waiting on trans controller for the 80e and little bit of wiring with the harness and cleaning up the truck side harness. tmp_10741-received_10260116740807881984763346.jpeg #ad

Nice, I love the square bodies. I'll be towing a G body with a square body this year.

This one is same year as the one I got from my dad for graduation. Lots of race trips all over the south east with it. His was red and I'll probably do this one the same tan as the nova. It's a 4.8/80e swap. I mocked a turbo up on it. tmp_10741-20160314_195149-3383690.jpg #ad

Tore the race engine down to find the cylinders looking like this on 1 and 2. I hit it with a ball hone to see if I clean up the high spots. Think I'll bore the mock up block and use the ls1 rotating assembly in the corner.

Stabbed a mock up motor in and started bolting stuff on. It's all gonna fit under a stock hood as well. Looks like getting a 3.5" down pipe under the car will be fun but doable.

If you run a trans brake, I would be suprised if it doesn't go faster than that. Those turbos should start coming on between 4,000 and 4,500 on that motor.

Yes it has a transbrake and I've used it with the nitrous setup that was in the car. It worked well. The turbo stuff is all new to me. Looks like I get to keep my flat hood as wel. tmp_29320-20160402_234320-705050809.jpg #ad

The 3.5 downpipe actually fits pretty well under there. I tucked mine as high as I could to the floor and crossmember and it clears just fine

Thanks for the heads up. On that I was kinda wondering about it once I got under the car. I've got some 3" bullets I was gonna use at the rear and do some cut outs up front.

Yeah, believe it or not he just broke a few fingers on his left hand. The cage saved his life. The car went through one phone pole like it wasn't there and got stopped by the second one.

That would be awesome. Now that I have most everything in the car for mock up its showing where I need to make room especially near the steering box.

Got some better pics of everything even with the motor against the firewall it's gonna be tight at the coresupport. Figuring out my coil location and start getting the cold side done. I'll put the radiator back in and start that this weekend.

Those brake lines will need some attention. Mine are further away and got really hot . Probably wrap them and the header tubes in that area. That is what I did but I haven'tgot it running sense I wrapped it.
