I always knew I wanted a different engine. But, I didn't know what. the more I looked at the 2jz and what kind of power it makes in it stock
form. I would be crazy to pass something like this up. 450+hp in a car that weights less then 2400lbs = lightspeed :D

This thing keeps growing and growing. It started out as just putting a 4 point roll bar. too now putting in the supra 2jzgte...

;) He who gets to use the Sawzall Or a BFH has the most fun!!! You gonna do the tin work after you put the motor in or just drop it of at the chassis shop? Does the motor have to sit way back for the best weight transfer? Or is it just go were it fits best?

It fits best with it that far back. there is really no room in this car. I still have to cut the rest of the trans tunnel out. The tunnel that in there now is too small to get a th400.
I will be putting the firewall and the trans tunnel back in myself.

Th400??? I thought you were doing a 2jz with a Supra R154 transmission in it...

I don't want the 6 speed. There are adapter to mate the th400 to the 2jz.
I want this car to be kind of consistence. With the R154 I don't see it being consistence at all. Faster yeah. but, consistence no.
ether way this car will be fun.

How about one of those Lexus V8s? I hear they're over-engineered and apparently pretty nice.

A 1JZ-GTE would be my second choice, but talk about hard finding parts...

I was going to do that lexus swap. But, I think the 2jz is a better swap. the 2j has more over the shelf parts. I don't want to deal with
    the custom parts thing.
And that's the same reason the 4 cylinder is now gone.
custom parts and the cost that comes with it.

If you were near I would throw the keys and ask you to tell me what you think.
