Old School Toyota celica now with a 2JZ-GTE

    Just a up date... I am
    trying hard to get this old project going again. I never have anything fight with me as much as this thing has... I have had the car up and running and the fuel pump just went south on me... I am going to get this thing out to the track this year and I will make a good pass in it... Its not going to win... Sorry just had to vent....

    Me and I'd wager to say a rather large crowd of other peeps can't wait to see that weapon go down a drag strip in anger!!

    It looks so good in paint now too!

    small up date..
    I've had some progress finally. engine/trans back in car and running. And most of the small problems
    worked out...
    here it is outside getting some fresh air..
    Needs to be cleaned.. no time for that now...

    thanks..it was off to the dyno...it put down 450 to the wheels on low boost and E85.
    here is a video of the day...
    We are going to do some low boost runs to tune the chassis

    A lot has happen.. I took the car out for some test and tune.
    I did not make a full pass or do a burn out on low boost.

    It should been a mid to low 10 @130+mph.

    Here is a video of my car at the track. It broken u-joint at half track.. Back to the drawing board....
    It ran a [email protected] and I was doing 105.87 @ the 1/8...

    I've been sitting here going through this thread for the last two hours and, man, it's been a journey. I skipped to the end and worked my way back and realized that we know/knew each other from the CC forums. :mind blown: Glad to see the progress you've made with your Celica.

    Mine overheated a few months after I bought it and has been sitting since '06 or '07. Planning on a rebuild for the 20R, but 2J has always been a dream. Still the next town over from you here in Hercules.

    I never seen your post until today... Ditched the 20r the 2jz is the way to go... A jdm 2jz with stock small turbo will get you 400rwhp... Yes I'm still one town over from you. Pm me there should be a celica / 2jz meet soon
