The car looks killer and you are on the right track. Mine was similar. I suggest you go with the Super Vr intake with an elbow. Many said it was too short and I'd have a hard time spooling with that intake on a 347 and an S480. My tuner came by and was not impressed with the turbo thinking it was too big for a 347. When he started playing with the loads and had it spool, he was shocked. I sold that car and it went 9.97 with no boost or trans brake used on launch and limiting it to 6000rpm because the new owner never swapped pills. He was nervous on the pedal too since he never went faster than 12's. You can see the intake setup in the blue car in the Dec issue of MM&FF. The new owner polished it all up so it's hard to see past all that awesome clean shine but the intake works with that engine combo and turbo. It really hauls.

Tubbing it is smart too. I wish I kept the car and went that route. You are going to have a monster on your hands. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks Dave!! I can't wait to get it on the track. I like the clean look of the super vic efi intake and here it works very well with boost. I've also read that these intakes needed some work to get good air distribution to all the cylinders. Did you have and work done to your intake?

My porter cleaned it out but really only matched it to the gaskets and heads. It was a big port Felpro gasket and the Vr Jr heads and Super Vr intake matched up perfectly after he was done.

The rear looks killer. I was going to ask why you didn't weld the tubes to the housing but I see that the brackets and bar below hold it all together. Nice job!

 

I've been looking for a slightly worked super victor efi intake with an elbow for sale. I had plans on the trick flow box intake but we'll see. If you look closely you will notice that the axle tubes are tig welded and it is braced in the front, just didn't have the braces bolted on for the pictures.

 

Update:
Got the heads on the motor. Received the hot side from Bryan at B&G. Started working on the cage and engine bay.

How long did it take to get hot side from Brian?

 

Build looks good great work on the 8.8 did you go 2 inch narrow on each side ? tires look like perfect the way they are sitting I their what size did you go with the mini tubs and what back spacing are you using ? I have mine in the shop now doing diff subframe and rear diff and coil overs

 

Thanks, it's narrowed 2.25" each side. Tubs came from racecraft and wheels are 15x10 with 6.5bs
