When I was welding for a living I had an inspector tell me I was doing it backwards , said I should start at the left and weld to the right ( im left handed ) I asked him how long he had been welding and he said oh I never have But I've read all the books and went to class. lmao.
That merge looks like he used a stick on it to me.

I guessed the same, or a flux core 110 welder from Home Depot.

I bet you coukld stick weld some nice exhaust tubing with the right rod, and a home depot welder or not or flux or not you will not have that as a byproduct. It is on some level a skill issue.

Btw disney some people have punched these blocks to use stock ls1 slugs. Just a thought for later.

I could weld that stuff with a coat hanger rod and a torch, it would look like it was tig'd lol

Seen better welds made with O/A and the tines of a rusty ass steel rake. Not making this shit up.

So an awesome friend of mine had a 5.3 leftover from his work. Said its got sludge and cracked head. I got it cleaned up enough to disassemble. Hopefully this one is better.

Well I'm still getting the new motor cleaned up and ready to use. Tonight I'll start gapping the rings. .025/.025 sounds good to me.

Those LS motors sure have a weird looking cam, or is that a crank? A big block crank.

Use a white cam next time, it's easier on the bearings.... ;)

The LS swapped coupe is the king of all camper/apartments. Pulled out an old laptop tonight and found this and many other old theturboforums.com videos.
