Yikes… I agree throw a dingle ball hone on all the cyls. Still wouldn’t hesitate to run the original rings if they look ok. Ebay has ball hones semi-cheap. I did it with my build, it had two bunk pistons. Just honed them quick and threw in 2 used piston rod assys. Used rings and all.

I was uncovered in no time!

From Australia. I have been reading build up threads in here so much lately I thought I should start sharing some praise. I will post my own thread soon once I make some decent progress. Needless to say builds like this are a big inspiration. Keep posting those updates and I'll keep following them :)

Gave them all a good dingleberry hone last night. Most look a lot better. A couple still look rough.

Damn 5 months and I just now saw your build ( insert old jokes here ) must spend to much time looking for tit pic's that are no longer here. lol

Shit if your going to keep it and your down this far have it honed and pistons for those are cheap compared to a Ford unless your keeping it on a budget. Going to be a nice ride I would do it while its out.

You think its worth it for pistons? Some guy just went 5.0 in the 1/8 with stock pistons in a fox chassis.

I wouldn't put pistons back in the bores looking like that , I would let the machine shop hone it and throw some wiseco pistons in it and have a good motor that will last. And new bearings.

Only $70 to $80 to hone the block and maybe $350 for a set of wiseco pistons.

I'm glad I've got good friends! Two guys I know have blocks that I can have. I'll get one of them and slap my cam over into it and keep going. I'll feel a lot better having a good block.

If I wasn't hell bent on the 427 Dart I would do an LS . guess im not 100% loyal . lol but a fully built LS . My used to be buddy is building some Bad LS motors , the heads they are doing are crazy.

Had Ken pull it just so you couldn't use it for this. is that a word ? spell check says it isn't.

In the pic up top are the two black plugs knock sensors ?

Good to hear you got a new block, that motor looks seriously jankified. If the merge is any indication he had it running enough to blow it up. That's as bad if not worse than that kid's flux core Honda manifold that everyone used to make fun of. I don't think he stripped off the aluminizing on the tubing and tried to weld it, as well as having a "welder" issue if you know what I mean.

Wow that's nuts man, just a trigger puller. I'm a program manager where I work (I used to work on the floor as a mold maker) and I have to weld stuff from time to time because some of the tool makers here can't weld, esp. aluminum lol.

I hope he inspects spot welds on washing machines. Cause those welds were some thing else.

Yes, It's running. I don't know how much I'll get it out the rest of this year because I have so much other work to catch up on. https://www.theturboforums.com/threads/353005-86-T-type-WH1-build/page5

It went a 9.27@145 second pass at the GS nationals with someone else driving. I went a 9.6@141 last weekend in it. Still has a long way to go, but not bad for a new car.
