So on plugs I'm thinking ngk in 8 heat range I've ran this plug in a near stock nitrous set up . Think stock plugs are 5 or 6 heat range . Am I going the wrong way here or is this a good starting point.

The plan is for a 350 or 327 variant in the long run .
But for now this is a bone stock 305 long block . This year will see if I can get a good idea of tune up ,and run it. If it goes well I'll cam it with valve springs this winter and maybe work on the heads a little not sticking a lot of money in them. I'm going to run the 305 till it don't. I think it will surprise most people, but I'm not jumping on the it's going to waste everything else band wagon.

Nice, I am slowly working on my 79 wagon with the stock 305 also. I can only work on it Saturdays and I have to keep it drivable. I kinda wanna start a thread but my build is gonna be super slow. Mine will be the stock 305, VSracing "sloppy mechanic" 69mm GT45 kit

Sweet that is kinda how mine is the last few weeks. That should be a close matched set up . Think I would have went with the s467 fmw if I didn't plan on more cube later and didn't want to have to re do the T4 to a t6 on hot side. The stock 305 will like a simple performer intake if you don't mind tuning the dual plane . Or a torker 2 if you want simple distribution. Other than that you'll find the stock valve spring will fall short of making power over 4600-4700 rpm so I'd plan something for that. Even if a cam swap isn't in the plan.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll make a build soon so I can post questions and not hijack others threads. I have absolutely 0 turbo experience so all advice is appreciated.

Got my wideban and boost vac combo gauge today from innovate. It's psb 1 can log boost afr and rpm to my pc should be cool tool for tuning. Innovate was kinda a pain to by from kinda like they didn't want my money and business. But the tech side has been awesome they answer the phone and are very helpful so that makes up for the subpar sales department

Re: junkyard wagon DIY rags to well not riches HOT SIDE BACK FROM COATINGS.

Woo woo I got packages today . Hot side is back from coatings and I think black is the berries. It's to dark now to get good pics but I'll get some up ASAP tomorrow. Can't wait to get it all hooked up . I was kicking myself for not getting silver till I saw the black tonight when I opened the box.

I hope I have the same reaction, my cold side is at the coater now, I was going to go with silver or chrome or whatever it is, but on a whim I went with black.

That pipe blanket isn't tied up yet just slid in place I decided to go with that over wrap due to the radiator hose and trans lines being so close to the pipes. And oil drain is there to .
