How are you going to keep the paint from burning off your fenders?

I am going to wrap it all with header wrap. The down pipe in the 83GT is wrapped and it gets hot, but not paint burning or plastic melting hot.

Pipes are all tacked and pointing the correct direction.

I don't mean to hijack your thread, just thought I'd share some pics of a 1R segmented bend.

I had a few minutes today between projects and burned a set out on the plasma table. No other fancy tools required and it took 30ish minutes from the flat plate to the tacked elbow. 14ga cold rolled.

    Carry on

    I don't mind a bit. That's a pretty cool piece. Nice work.

Something like that is probably a little above my ability level. Haha. It would look like a solid blob of weld when I got done with it. Haha.

I am ready impressed how well you were able to bend the strips into circles did you just use clamps and the hammer? Over the pipe?

I can see this working pretty good if you had a v-band to weld the first piece to. I would make the last piece wider go from the 0 point and add some distance 1/2 +/- so there is some to connect to the next pipe. If you could spare the distance adding 1/8-1/4" to the first I would guess would make it easier.

If it's solid weld it should be pretty strong. No one will see your down pipe so does it matter what it looks like?

Yeah, that's why I am sticking with V2.0 for the time being. Outta sight outta mind. Haha.

I did weld all the pipes up today. I just need to add a mount to support the end and it will be done except for adding an O2 bung somewhere.

Thanks! And yes, hand formed over the pipe. Hammering was only really required at the ends of the spears.

A little manipulation with pliers and tacking from the center out. Doing it from coll rolled so if it was stainless it would be quite a bit more difficult.

Extra length could be added the first or last pieces if you could spare the room for sure.

Pipes are all welded up and I made a bracket to support the end. I also trimmed up the side skirt piece to clear. Looks good. I will add a pic later.

The water pump location has been driving me crazy. I think I finally decided where I want to put it. The hose to the lower radiator fitting is going to be a bit interesting, but I think it is do-able.

Water pump is done and mounted. I borrowed Jonathan's Rivnut tool (those things are awesome) and mounted a plate to the lower side of the frame rail. I flipped the lower inlet to the other side and started looking at hose routing.

I'm guessing by the looks of it you made some plates for the water pump? It almost looks like an SBC one. Pretty slick.

Yes, I made some outlet plates for it. It is a BBF electric pump I have had for a few years. I really thought hard about using a SBC pump because there are just so many more available and they are cheap. I will probably swap to a SBC one if this one ever conks out.

I need a fairly tight curved hose to connect the water pump to the radiator outlet. If this hose for a 1993 3.3L Grand Caravan doesn't not have a suitable curve, nothing does. Haha.

    That's awesome.

I wouldn't want to be the poor bastard changing that Caravan's heater hose based on the shape of it.

I think I am going to run the LS3 throttle body and elbow that I had on the Nanner. The throttle cable and cruise cable will darn near connect up to it. It also will eliminate the hard 90 degree turn right off the turbo.

My original plan was to use the big 4bbl throttle body that is on the 83GT. I have a Speedmaster 4bbl, but it is smaller and I don't have a TPS for it and the throttle cable won't work with it as is. I decided to leave the 83GT alone because in the event I need to go to Plan B (552/C6) in that car, literally everything will be plug-n-play.

A pair of 45s and a straight piece would probably work well for that.

Looked at the throttle cable situation a little last night. This is just a mockup to check fitment, but I think this tb will work fine with the Ford cabling.

Well, who would have thought a 1993 Dodge Caravan lower radiator hose would fit this thing like it was made for it? Not me!

I was about to cut it up, then I though I should at least try it as is, and boom, here we are. Haha.
