I wonder if the new cam will help you straighten out your line painting? You are doing pretty good now but I see some room for improvement. The car sounds great.

I bet you will gain all over the board, maybe lose a tad down low out of boost. But once it kicks in the increased volumetric efficiency will be instantly satisfied. This is my theory at least!

Just curious, you were pulling crazy style OEM manifold vac. @ idle. What do you have now with the TSP cam? I wonder how the reduced separation will effect your overall power output, can wait to see this thing on the rolls again. Been having fairmont withdrawls.....

the th400 was great, but i really love the 80e, lockup and overdrive are awesome.

i had it out today tuning with the new cam and also put it back on pumpgas diet.

What are your thoughts on the cam?

feels nearly the same, between my stall and this thing being a tire fryer i cant tell much.

it only runs 11psi now instead of 15 with no other changes other than the cam, so what does that say.

Hmmm... wonder if it's eating more air, or not driving the turbine as hard?

    yeah interesting result eh!

there is some more duration there and the LSA is shorter, so who knows,

all sorts of stuff at play i dont know about like relieving cyl pressure and bleeding off etc etc

Quick question concerning the Micro 2 and the LS9 cam, I could possibly be wrong here but I was thinking since I was using the Micro 2 running off just the crank trigger is it necessary to do the front cover swap with the LS9 cam since I'm not using the cam sensor at all?

nope i swapped on the stock truck cover, you dont need the front cover or correct cam gear or anything

Why this yoke isn't the mustang 8.8 factory one strong enough

I would venture say the motor/heads are breathing better with the cam change so the turbo (assuming the exact same waste gate settings, etc) is seeing less back pressure. With that theory, the motor should be making more horsepower per pound of boost. I guess you'll find out once you put the car on the same dyno (for direct comparison) you did before.

Close, but... it's not less backpressure, if it's making more power than before the backpressure (between the exhaust port and turbine) will go up, since more power = more mass flow and more fuel burned, and the turbine is the same as before. More shit trying to go thru the same size hole.

On the compressor side, if the engine offers less resistance to flow, the boost pressure will go down even though mass flow increases. But without a direct comparison of before/after turbine pressure numbers, nobody will know until it goes back on the rollers.

If the turbine pressure went up while boost went down, the engine's making more power. If they both went down, it's making less, because that means the boost is lower because the turbo's not being driven as hard.

The turbine is definitely being driven harder with 24° more overlap.

The drop in restriction is why I had asked earlier about fuel needs. I was curious if you would need less fuel or more. I'm still curious, but you probably can't tell unless you dyno and/or go to the track.

In post #99 you show a 8.8 yoke beside the stock mustang rear is it different ???
