I've got 4 psi springs in the gates, telltale showed a max of 11 psi. No doubt with a few tweaks, it will go 9s.

4 psi springs...with a few tweaks it will go low 9's and launch like the blue camaro.

Turns out the fuel filter was partially plugged. Cleaned it out, put the 10 psi springs back in the W/Gs and went a 9.993 @ 126 mph with a 1.799 60' Friday night, 6.467 @115 at the 1/8th. Leaving at about 1000 rpm, with no boost. It was blowing through the converter badly, the limiter is set at 6200, and the shift light was on from about the 330' all the way to the stripe. Time for a P/G, tighter converter, and a brake. :coolio:

Congrats, how high you reving that sucker now? If you can get up around 7k, it's hard to beat that $450 PTC 10" turbo converter. I had to grab the 9.5" $1000 unit because I wasn't reving the motor high enough to couple the cheap converter.:ambivalence:

My limiter is set at 6200, (hyper pistons), cam is good for 7000~7200, the converter is a JW 8", stalls 4900~5000,

What does it stall foot braking if its a 4900-5000?

I can get it to about 3200 on the 2 step, then it pushes through the brakes. I can foot brake it to 4900~5000 in high.

Congrats! Glad to see you make a clean pass. If you put a TB and a new converter in there its going to be insane. Do you have any boost logs?

    Oh, nice to meet ya.

Sounds about right... no cheap way to get a decent launch and couple a converter tightly up top without a higher redline. Gotta fork out the big bucks on a custom unit :( . A glide will make it even worse with the 1.76 1st gear. I had to launch at 24lbs (not a typo) to get the car to leave hard with the 3.10 gear on a glide.

For a quick JY style improvement, you could try running the Hygard or similar tractor hydraulic fluid. Tightened up my converter about 200rpm up top.

Thanks for the vids 1 Hcam,
I'm pretty sure this will leave a LOT harder if I had a brake, I can leave pretty hard just with the 2 step, if I can get the launch procedure down. 1Hcam didn't get my last pass, I did launch it @ about 3200 on the 2 step, but forgot to let off the button, about at the 60', I'm wondering why it isn't revving/pulling, then I let off the button, and it was off like a bat outta hell.
After the last pass, I went on the outside return road and practiced launching with the 2 step a few times, and it seems to work fairly well, a lot better than just stomping it from 900~1100 rpms.
A friend on another forum has a 10" TCI 3000~3500 for a Glide I'm gonna try out till I can afford a better one, just trying to figure out whether to try build the core I have myself, (maybe $600), or buy one ready to go, ($1100~$1300). :ambivalence:
Either way, I've got a P/G book coming, so I can figure out how to build one myself.

Just got it, looks GOOD, I already found a trans brake kit to convert my stock V/B to a Pro Tree Trans Brake for $165.

Pretty cool. Are you going to upgrade some hard parts or just put some good clutches?

Gotta get it apart and see what's in it. If the clutches look good, I may just replace some seals, do the T/B and see how it goes. I definitely plan to do an upgraded input shaft, but since I've got a P/G converter, I'm gonna try it with the stock input to begin with. If the converter works good, I may see if it can be made into a TH converter, or at least duplicated.
