Just yesterday checked the EFI datalogger from the 8.01 run, seems like it lost traction after about 1.5 sec from the launch and that's propably the reason why I shifted to direct so early. Otherwise the engine seems to run fine now, no alarms in the EFI.

The short block consists of the forementioned Indy RB block, it's with a 4.5" bore and stock 3.75" stroke. The crank and the 7.1" rods are off the shelf items from K1. This is the fourth year for them. Pistons are from Ross, 51cc dish and thick wall hemi pins. The reason for hte Hemi pins is that's all K1 had at the time in 7.1" length. Cam timing is by Jesel belt drive and hte cam is dual pattern, 268/283 degrees at .050" with 0.7" lift. Cooling is handled with Davies Craig varaible speed electric pump and a self built water manifold, the water supply is reversed going to the heads first and also from between the center exhaust ports. Ignition is handled with a slef built aluminum multi rib crank pulley that has steel inserts every 90 degrees for the Hall sensor, and cam timing is taken from the stock distributor with seven teeth cut off. EFI is an autronic SM4 and it works great. Ignition is regular MSD 7 AL2 with a Blaster 2 coil. The injectors are 160 lbs and the fuel pump & regulator are Weldon pieces. the intake is an old Indy intake drilled for the injector bungs that are glued in, not welded. This has worked fine, and since no heat is involved, no need for milling. Wilson elbow and a Ford 95mm throttle body.
Here are a couple of less than spectacular videos from different years.
