Re: 1992 Isuzu pickup Turbo 5.0 build [UPDATE: AOD in, and Track times]

    back from the dead.

The truck ran great with the old 5.0, went 11.7x at 117 with the setup leaving with no boot. Started pushing water when I raised the boost. So started its transformation.

Been a while. Long story short, tried to save a few dollars on machine work and it took about 6 month too long. Everything got side tracked and nothing got worked on for a year.

I shortened the axle and narrowed the leaf springs in the rear to make room for 275s. Front lower control arms got shortened to pull the front wheels in. Motor is in, turbo stuff is done, exhaust is 95%. Just need to finish up some wiring and fuel before it can run.

Awesome, subscribing. So was it still not cooling well with the bigger radiator in the back? Or did you just move it up front to make things easier to work with?

It cooled fine with the larger radiator. It was difficult to get all the air out of the system, looking back now I should have jacked up the rear of the truck to bleed it all out. I moved it back up front for the weight savings. It was quite a bit of 1.25" steel piping and extra water to carry around. Having it in the back was great for the extra room, I was able to mount the LS lower and further back this time and made it work.

I'm glad it didn't close before I got to run the truck there! Hoping to make some major progress in the next few weeks and have it out ASAP. I'm pretty sure I have seen your truck run there, according to your signature.

I'm just glad they've reopened it haha. I'm interested to see how yours runs when you get it back out there. And you may have seen it out there, sadly now its back to stock and sitting under a cover until I graduate and can have some time to start working on it again
