boat took a back seat due to this great winter we had ,been on my 12 rush pro r 800 a lot
I ll be getting on it soon cant wait to get it fired
still not sure about fuel pump im going to use .
Something inexspensive and reliable that'll will go up to 12-14 psi
maybe holley blue pump
I also have to get a wideband.
The project it pretty close though

 

I'd go with a pump that pushes FI pressures to make sure you have some buffer room. Walbro 110/190/255lph pumps can all be had for around $100 or less. I don't see why a 255lph pump wouldn't work. It'd be overkill but as long as you have enuff return you should be fine.

Well had a bad winter here in chitown still cold here wtf
I did get do back from welder came out nice I wrapped the DP
With heat wrap 2 layers think
I bought an auto meter wideband also picked up a boost gauge ..

I took out the 4 winns finally
The boat ran great ,I couldn't control the boost though .Im goin to switch to a external gate now. the throttle dictated the boost level , I lengthen the rod all the way no difference

the boat is an animal though it ll cavitate prop at 30 mph no problem it wicked as hell!!
I am concerned about the boat running hot it was at 210 -220 at 6 psi cruise and did come down fast when I decreased speed ,im going to look a water pump in drive and replace it.I think its original.
also after about an hour of testing the upper drive let loose ,I took it apart today and one of the pinoin bearings let go on me..
I never did any WOT passes due to the boost issue, but at 1/2 throttle it was a 33 mph and had a ton left.Before turbo it was topped out at 38 mph with 1 person on it also I need to up the pitch to 21 or higher but outdrive wont last ...

looking good, i hope you figure out the upper ,, do u suppose it was worn previous to the turbo? do they make a stronger gear set?? or bearing set

 

No stronger drives or bearings OMC old school
It might been hurt prior to the turbo not sure
I can do an alpha2 conversion but it pricey
The upper is at a local shop I'm hope kc marine takes care of me
I ported out the puck hole on the turbo and clearances behind the puck to get.mote seing on it
Tested actuator and works gone , I'm hoping the porting takes care of the boost issues
Can't wIt to get it out again
The boat is fast
I need to get some wot passes and make sure a/f ratios a golden[SUP][/SUP]

 

any updates?? i may locate another drive before i go any further with mine, did the boost come on pretty fast? maybe a bigger turbine would help spool later?

 

crazy man at kc marines wants $900.00 to put new bearings in my upper drive ,hes on crack
I think the bearing failed due to not enough gear lube is case, double check level in your drives and filled them per specs..(that's where I fucked up)
short weeks at work force the project to be delayed for a few weeks saving up for an rebuilt upper
boost was coming on quick I think opening up the hole will cure the boost creep issues
also found out the running hot issue
the tstat housing was plugged up with pcs of rubber from outdrive water pump(about 80% blockage) so replaced stat and gaskets and cleaned up everything
ill keep u updated

 

Very cool build. Always thought turbo would be ideal in a boat. Bet you can spin a 21 pitch stainless prop. Would get my boat up to 55 and I bet your comparable in HP
