Do you have to put clear coat on the covers now or will the dip hold up to fuel? They look pretty dam cool!

A little update it's been awhile.

The motor is ready to go in, I was getting ready to put in Saturday and realized my
Convertor won't work with the flex plate. The convertor pads are hitting the outside ring on the flexplate.

So my guess is I need a 164t one, which in turn means I need a different bell then also. So if that's the case it's going to be awhile before it
    Goes in.

I did get the interior pretty much finished.besides a few snags.

I have race craft seat mounts for kirkey seats, but it had my helmet into the funny car cage. Snapchat-20140421065453.jpg #ad

I cut 2.5" off the race craft mount and I only gained a half inch up top.(idk) you can see the stock mount in back and the modified one up front.

    Snapchat-20140422032533.jpg #ad

So I sat it on the floor and made mounts for it. Here is the start of the front mount.

After I had my ati balancer mounted,I found out people would cut the hub down, well I already went and bought a Peterson
Crank mandrel to give me the clearance I needed from the turbo system so it's staying where it is.

But with letting it out like that I had to modify my crank trigger,.

The first pic shows off I spaced out the sensor to get centered on the crank wheel
It pulled the timing pointer out to far.
    Snapchat-20140424103530.jpg #ad

So what I did was spaced out the whole bracket to get over wheel, and then I took off
The big spacer from the ati timing pointer and drilled and tapped the msd bracket and mounted the rest of the ati
Pointer to it. So everything is lined up now.

I had my turbo system coated by swaintech in their white lightning coating, it looked more like bright silver.

They said you can paint over them with no worries, I tried them on without painting them first.
But didn't like the way they looked, nothing complimented them and they showed dirty prints
    So I painted them black.

Then I have just been doing stupid little things.

Like I made a battery hold down.
    Snapchat-20140402060102.jpg #ad

Then I took a piece of sheet aluminum and bent it around where
The pipe goes thru the cowl. It's not finished in this pic but it's has since
Been seedless all the way around. Trying to keep water out.

    Thanks, here is msd's description:

This module is perfect for the racers that can use a 2-Step style rev limiter. With this system the module will take over the shift light prior to launch. The module makes it easy for racers to quickly and simply make last second changes to the launch rpm, light intensity, or launch light window from within the cockpit.

Well the motor and trans was about to go in on Saturday but I ran into a problem.

My dumb ass never thought to check what flex plate my ptc convertor was for and found
Out the hard way lol. It's designed for a164t and my bell and flex plate are 157t.

So I called ptc today and they are going to restall the convertor and change the pads
For me. Then I can put everything in finally.
