Seems I saw a thread where someone had used some early model 351w heads becuase they had a thicker deck and tgey were able to crank up the boost.

I don't know about deck thickness but the early heads flowed a little better and added a little compression and worked great on NA 302 street motors.

If I break these axles I will. It has C-clip eliminators and stock brakes on it right now.

Fired it up tonight. A few loose ends to tie up but I should have it on the road for some tuning later this week.

Finally back on the road! Car feels strong at 18psi with the S480. The torque converter might be a little too loose but it spools quick on the transbrake and pull hard. I am going to run it at the track and calculate slipage before making any changes. It rained most of the weekend so further tuning will come this week. First track outing is scheduled for 6/22. Yes. The last setup was 2.5" crossover tubing this one is 2.25". 1-5/8" primary headers.

that's what my e-eyeball" thought, should spool much better, keep us posted on the difference, doing a 306 falcon and a 393 falcon in 2.25" flavor now..

so how fast does that s480 spool rolling into the throttle? What RPM do you shift?

It has already been sold.

It spools quick but the torque converter is a little loose. Converter flashes to about 3500 and it makes boost pretty much immediately. I shift between 6000-6500. I shoul have some videos up this weekend.
