    What turbo size? 496" BBM.

Im looking for turbos to my 496" BB Mopar build. Keithblack block, eagle 4340 crank, grp rods, keith black forged pistons, Indy 440-1 heads ported 320cc, 2,25" intakevalve 1,81" exhaustvalve. Indy 440-3 intake. Fuelinjection, will be running E85. looking for 1300-1500hp.

Single turbo? 101mm in, 112mm out Holset HX82 or twin turbo, dual 75-80mm turbos??

Do you have any kind of ballpark as to what your intake port flows? I can't really even begin to guess. (330-340?)

I believe 392Dart is running a 106 on his 572" and is having a ball with it. I don't believe you'd have any problem turning one either.

What kind of car is this going in?

Edit: my favorite C-body knucklehead Jyrki is doing about what you're looking for with a pair of old Garretts and 540", but you'll have to bug him for turbo specs (think they're 80-somethings).

I thought is user name was 388 dart? And it is an animal.

Yeh, some weird displacement for a name (was his old, old, old combo I think).

Don't have any flow numbers. Bought the heads from a guy named Mike Tokarz in debary,FL. he had these heads on a 500cui bb and twin turbos, EFI Alky, in a dodge avenger. I think he ran a best of 4.21 in the 1/8mile. I'm no guru on turbo v8's but would twin Holset HX55 turbos do the job? 9.5:1 compression and E85. Don´t want to rev it to the moon, would like to have the redline in the 7500 - 8000rpm and the hp around 1300-1500hp..

I am not a Holset guru (or any kind of guru for that matter), but, according to our Holset bar graph and some posts by TurboDaves, they'll do 700HP a piece and apparently have some wacky bastard flange. Odds are that the "700HP" figure everyone arrives at is at full crank, and probably way out of the comfort zone of the compressor map already (how most "max" HP figures on turbos are achieved *edit* empirically *edit*). So, I'd say, since:

    - it has a screwey flange, and
    - a pair of them is probably going to be done at 1200HP realistically, and
    - there probably aren't a ton of turbine / wheel options for you if the pair of those don't work *when* you want them to work (not a Holset expert, so that part might be null and void, but I have a hunch....), and
    - the rest of this combo (is going to / has) cost some serious coinage (making the few hundred dollars you might save by using JY turbos seem paltry)

then no, I wouldn't use them.

Who is the guy with the lime green A-body cuda and a pair of giant hairdryers? That's another full-effort Mopar which cooks, also....

If the heads were ported by someone that knows what they are doing they should be in the 360-370cfm range.

Wow. Then I would definitely NOT try HX55s.

What was the guy you bought these heads from running for turbos?

That sounds way more like what you should be using.....

What part of your 1500HP project hasn't been, or won't be, expensive?

Maybe get your feet wet with a pair of S480s if you wanna go the cheapie route? I can't speak for the impeller designs between it and a 4788, but I know both the entire assembly and rotating mass on the S480 are about a ton less.... Also there are some big inch combos on here who have done twin BWs, search for them, they run alright, hahaha.

If you're thinking the BW route, I think you can get a 1.10 a/r with the larger 96mm ex. wheel.
