I have been looking at a carb blowthrough turbo setup and was wondering what would be the right gear for 1/8 mile.
The car is a 93 fox 2800 lbs without me , ,306 with weisco flattops, stock heads for now but will be upgrading.
    It has a c4 trans with a 4200 and 4.10s , 33 spline moser axles.
I have a few intakes , funnel web, vic jr. , and a stealth and a 650 and 750 carb.
On the turbo i have not decided but am looking at the mp70, mp76, or a s400, s475
I dont want to much lag but it will be driven to the track some and around town alittle.
I can have the converter tightened some if needed.
I would like a turbo that i can use now and make plenty of power later as i upgrade motor.
I am hoping to get started so i can race next year.

Nobody can answer your question without knowing the engine speed and horsepower. You didn't mention the tire size either. :bah:

I want to keep the rpms around 6000 to 6200, on a 28" tire and around 500+ hp.
Just not sure nwhat turbo to use to get there , a T4 based t70-t76 or a T6 s475.

    Forget about anything t6 on a 306.

Thanks for the info , will the 306 not get into boost fast enough or just because of the weak block?

    The block is weak whether it's a t4 or t6 based. 500hp doesn't require a t6 framed turbo on a 306.

I agree 100% , I was just looking at the cost of the s400,s475 turbos as they look like a good deal.
