I am not a big fan of the red and blue fittings, but I have a bunch. I was thinking of sandblasting them and painting them. Has anyone ever had any luck doing this and it looking good and lasting??

    Thanks
    Lynn

Definitly dont blast aluminum fittings. If you soak em in oven cleaner it will eat the anodizing off.

Don't let them soak too long in the oven cleaner.
You can turn them gold if you get them hot, juuuust right. 8)

    The gold sounds pretty cool.
Ditto on the oven cleaner, it removes the anodizing.

I've heard that boiling simple green will take it off too.

paint sure, otherwise I don't know if I would really want to be messing with the anodizing of my fittings. Anodizing is not only a coloring but a process that creates a hardened outer layer of the metal.
