You absolutely need to weld the axle tubes. I'd also do the brace shown.

At what speed should you weld your axle tubes and what will happen if you don't.

I recommend the welding, but I've seen some fast cars w/o braces like that. Don't know how well they do.

A 10 second car definitely needs the axle tubes welded. They WILL pull out, otherwise.

SNEAKY had the factory spotweld for the axle tube break loose, causing the axle tube to rotate and come out a little as well... the rotation caused his brand new set of Hoosier QTP's to hit the wheelwell/fenderlip and ruin them.

Shouldn't that axle brace go on the rear of the axle? When I narrow my Dana it was bent just exactly the way that brace is pulling and I had to offset the new housing ends to the rear. It would still work but, steel tubing is stronger in tension, than compression.

When I narrowed my rear I checked 3 different Fox housings and all three were bent backwards. This brace would work well for that.

On my car the tube moved out when I was in the high 12's a few years ago.

You must weld the tube in.

The brace seems like a nice idea and I have thought about it but there are some fast cars without it though.

If I am bored and have the time I will prob still put a brace on mine.

    As usual Shane is right.

Shane how did you do your brace with the coil overs and anti-roll? Do you have any pics, I've been looking at making one as well.
