What advantage/disadvantage is there to having the pipe leading to the wastegate on an angle lesser than 90deg? I think it would make sense to have the wastegate pipe on an angle that will promote exhaust gas flow into the wastegate instead of just having it come off the exhaust on a 90 deg angle.

Having the design of the turbine piping to the in let to resemble something like a "Y" is I deal, where the verticle leg is from the engine, and one of the arms for the Y go to the turbo, the other to wastegate is better than having the wastegate at a 90 degree angle to flow, in fact that is desired.
