Got a 93 notch that I'm repairing the strut towers/rails due to rot. My question is does anyone know what the hell the paint colors/codes are for underhood/underbody on a fox as it does not appear the same as body color. I'm trying to keep car very original looking, as it's quite clean and unmolested. The body paint is code EG...electric current red.

 

So if the car is red what color in it under the hood , if it isn't the same as the body it should be black. The factory does not put a different color under the hood than the body if it is it has been painted. Can you post a pic.

 

A lot of times the factory will put just a base coat color and no clear in some areas of the car.

I think heman is right about base w/ no clear but it sure looks like 2 different colors to me.

 

With out the clear coat if will look different than the body.

 

Very true. Under the hood the paint probably looks dark and dirty.
