I think you found it's limits. Time to build a new one.

I bet it wouldn't have done that if you'd used 1/2" head studs and o-ringed the block.:laughhard:

Main girdle would have cut down on the engine goolosh, but the result would have been the same. I had one on mine and i can reuse the rotating assembly and other parts for another engine :)

Yes it was, it also took out the clutch and trans with it, we could not put it on an engine stand for tear down had to take it out of the gararge in a wheel barrow and dump it on the ground. I could not believe the amount of stuff that was torn up.

When my rear end housing went it took out axles driveshaft trailing arms pan hard bar and transmission. Motor was only thing that didn't break.

Never thought you would use a wheel barrow for auto repair did you..... Lol

It was making around 530 rwhp at the time and running very well. It blew at the track right after pulling 4th gear and made a bang and the rest is history. It locked the rear wheels and the car spun around driving over the fluids and some how my son kept it off the walls so there was no body damage. We just exceeded the limits of a stock block 5.0 scary situation we were very lucky.

I'd go aftermarket block now. If not at least a 351w will hold up to quite a bit more than stock 5.0 block. I'm glad you guys were ok and good job to your son for not shitting himself and hitting all over the walls or the other car. I couldn't imagine how loud that must have been when it went bang. lol Honestly I was lookin at your s/n of 427F2 and I was thinking thats what it may have been. Then you said stock 5.0 block I'm like whaaaa what whatttt!?!?!? .... lol But makes sense to see one look like that with a good power adder force fucking it. lol This is definitely going down in stock block chronicals. Nice looking ride though... glad you didn't ding her up. Well... now for phase 2 Next power plant... any plans?

That was the old motor. New motor is an aftermarket blocked 427. At least that's how I understood it.

Yeah thanks, the new engine is in post #8 above, Dart block 427 inch with trick flow r heads, f2 blower, box r intake and 120# injectors. Also put a 3650 dog ring trans in it. Got it running and putabout 2000 miles on it this year, trying to get it tuned but have some issues with the pms controller, we ended up making 830 rwp with 14# of boost at 6200 rpm. This engine was built to make power to 7000 and once we get it right I think we will hit 1050-1100hp. Its been a fun project
