I see guys using Inconel exhaust valves or Ferrea Super Alloy valves. I am building a new towing motor for my truck, 10 pounds of boost. Should I upgrade my exhaust valves. This is a 383 chevy with more than likely some type of Vortec head on it.

    Or is this overkill.

Stainless valves can handle heat better. If you're towing something through the mountains, you may end up going up a hill and holding 4 or 5 psi for an extended period of time (a minute or two). This is when heat buildup can possibly melt a regular exhaust valve. If you only use the boost of merging onto the highway or passing, you would likely never melt any valves.
