i'm putting a 302 GMC inline six in my 31 chevy pickup project and would like to turbo it. i'm lost as to what size i need. I can build the engine to work with a turbo its just going to be a street car and will never see 5500rpms it has a 5spd. trans. thinking of a draw through ?? any ideas will be appreciated. i'm not new to boost just turbos! my other boosted car a 302 #ad

Depends a little on the power goals, but something around an s362 would probably work pretty well on the street.

 

thanks for the reply, i'm thinking of about 250-300 hp with boost coming on at about 2000-2500rpms and a limit to 5000 rpms.

Most T4 60*ish mm turbos should get ya ballpark. If you want it really responsive without RPM, go small. The T4 GT3582 would prob be plenty for 5000 rpm.

Personally I’d want to put a decent cam in it and rev it a little higher. Local here has the record for the SBE inline 300 fords. He was able to rev it quite a bit higher and ran silly amounts of boost. He has a “built” motor in it now and is really leaning on it. Super impressive setup!
