now.... since the merkur catridge is no good (a lot of shaft play), can i take the bearings (or whatever would fix shaft play) from the volvo cartridge and put it into the merkur one? The volvo one has no shaft play at all, i think it is rebuilt.... i'd like to use the Volvo hturbine housing and the merkur cartidge since it is watercooled.....

also, if i used the Volvo turbine housing, how do i use a flange on the inlet side? will a standar T3 flange fit? that inset circle thing worries me, and the fact that i would be adding a new compressor impeller, if i used the turbine impeller from the volvo, and the shaft it's bonded to, and i add a different impeller to fit the Merkur compressor housing, would it be off balance?

 

in ebay there is a company that sells brand new T3 cartridges for around $125.
