Turbo 460 BBF(need info)

    I am going to be starting my turbo 460 bbf project soon and I am wondering DIY/"junkyard" turbo would be. I am wanting to go with a single. I have read that a HX-60, HT3B, and a Switzer S-480, would be good turbo selections. Any other choices?



    I have Found another turbo But I cant find any specs on it. I was wondering if anyone had info. Part number 235015330 Model number TV8117AR

    If you can find one, a TV8101 should match nicely on big block.

    The one in the classifieds sold, but I would like to find something cheaper. A friend of mine has a HT3B for sale for $300 but it is missing the little plates that hold it together

    does 300 seem like a good price for that turbo? It has a little side to side but no in and out

    A friend of mine has a NTC-250 855 small cam cummins and I believe it has a Holset HC3 on it. Was wondering if anyone knows if this turbo will be big enough for a 460. I am pretty sure it is a HC3 but I am not sure, so if anyone knows if it could be a diff turbo let me know

    Another thread were some one askes a question, does not give the necessary info to answer the question but yet people still find a way to give an answer. It is the blind leading the blind. Does the engine turn 4000rpm, 5000rpm, 6000rpm? This makes a big difference in turbo selection.

    It will be a 466 that will have around 8.5:1 comp. The heads are mildly ported and polished and I will be spinning it to 5500rpm. The truck it is going in I would guess wieghs 4000lbs and has a C-6 trans with a 3000 stall convertor. I hope this will help clear things up


    I need some info on this turbo also. Part number 23501530 Model TV8117ar it is a AirResearch
