Finally got my 8 second street car!

    Fixed the exaust leak and a better track.

    jesus-- consistent!!! you got a bracket car there!!! holy 60fts!!! damn near int he 1.20's!!! how much you leaving the line with??

    I started at 3800 thats like 8psi then just kept bumpin it 200 each pass....it was maybe 12 psi off the line 20-21 total.I drive this car everywhere too.

    Congrats!

    Is the turbo tapped out or is there more boost available on the top end?

    What are you using for boost control, just single stage?

    Just a ebay manual boost controller.Id think the GTS78 could make more than 20-21psi.

    I don't know, these DOHC's flow a ton of air under boost. How much HP do you estimate its making based on MPH and WEIGHT?

    Anyone have a compressor map for a GTS78?

    Based off of the MPH it should be making between 780 and 820 rwhp. if it's making that much i'd bet that the turbo is pretty much done.

    Think so?Damn that sucks...On slicks and through a TH400 it made 743rwhp last saturday on the dyno.

    That 78mm turbo and the small engine I would have though it has some left in it.

    I found an old post by ShaneH which said a GTS78 should be good for 1150hp (crank). If you assume you can actually run out the the edge of the compressor map then you might be looking at 1000rwhp capability.

    If you figure 90% of peak output is the sweet spot, then you are looking at 1030 hp (crank), and about 927rwhp max

    What's the car weigh Jim?

    I saw the recent dyno run posted here: http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread.php?t=108105

    Was mainly looking at peak rpms, ~6250rpm, curious as to why it is dropping off there? Long runner intake?

    You should be able to spin that at least another 1000 revs, question is why it doesn't want to . . . . .

    the graph does look questionable from 6k on. maybe just some fine tuning alittle up top? notice any out of the ordinary when going through the revs?

    What converter are you running with your TH400 and what is it stalled @? Are you using a 2step as well?

    Congrats on the new bests! That car is flying.

    I just did a 78mm build on a customers 4v. Car made 865rwhp @ 22psi on Q16.

    That's just my own experience with these turbos. It should make between the 780 and 820 like i stated before. but you never know, depends on how much you lean on it. These are great turbos, they spool good on mod mototrs but they run out of air. they'll peak at 6200-6400 and then start dropping. Again my own experience, every car is different.

    congrats! Car is truely impressive! Are you running a stock intake? I have the SHM short runner and was told to go back to a stock length.
