As I am bored sitting waiting for IT to fix the upgrade they did, lets make a build thread for all to see.

In the beginning there was X, small older Precision turbo, pt76gts, 76mm T4 unit mounted on an old realquick turbo kit.

The motor is composed of a LT1 block .030 over, compstar 6 inch rods, compstar 3.75 forged crank and JE extreme duty forged pistons, all topped off with max ported stock castings, and a single plane.

Its controlled via a LS1 0411 PCM, so coil packs and 3 bar SD tune. Harness is a frankenstein'd stock LT1 harness with tweaks to use a vortec distributor for cam signal.

Built 4L80e and a S60 puts the power to the ground. Nothing extraordinarily fancy, but nothing remotely cookie cutter.

Take your antidepressants, and fall down the rabbit hole.

Part two: The death of a unicorn

Made up some exhaust since a dumped one is lame
    [IMG]#ad

Got it all heat wrapped up
    [IMG]#ad

And finally back on 28 inch street radials from M&H
    [IMG]#ad

    Side view
    [IMG]#ad

Made a pass on radials/street trim
    [IMG]#ad

And we have 10s, car weighs 3600lb with me in it. Puts it around 700whp
    [IMG]#ad

One of the highlights of last season, paint!
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

And of course, new fancy hood!
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

And with that high note... we have our death. Went to Etown, ran some craptastic 12 sec passes, and lost all oil pressure. Knock knock, whos there. The tear down..
    [IMG]#ad

Smoking gun, snapped oil pump driveshaft tab
    [IMG]#ad

But it gets better, trashed cam lobes
    [IMG]#ad

And with that, ends the glory days. Part three next

    - - - Updated - - -

Part three, Rebirth of the unicorn

Sent crank and stuff out for polishing, and started to measure for bearings
    [IMG]#ad

Since the old cast cam was trash, I went with a billet cam from lunati
    [IMG]#ad

And with that, we have a rebuilt motor!
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

Link bar lifters will not come out with heads on, FYI
    [IMG]#ad

    All done!
    [IMG]#ad

All the familar places, mated back to a trans and K

Went to town with even more heat wrap, if some is good, more must be better!

What more than likely killed the motor last time was solved with an ARP stud, and steel hold down.

    And its back in!
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

Mounted up my PCM, it had previously just kinda sat on trans tunnel
    [IMG]#ad

Tackled wiring up gauges in hopes of stashing them where teh HVAC controls used to be
    [IMG]#ad

Finally, the official rebirth idle clip!
    [YT]sEOs6Bel2Nc[/YT]

Some completed engine bay shots, had painted it during this time round
    [IMG]#ad

Wired up my BLS camaro LT1 HID kit
    [IMG]#ad

And that is where it stands today, few more nights of wrenching and should be able to start driving it again.

Awesome build.. are all those pieces Hydro dipped?

Sucks about the original motor, but I'll be looking for updates. Nice!

Cometics are sitting on a shelf waiting and hopefully get some alone time to pull the heads this weekend.

Heads off time to clean em and check for warpage. Found some slight scuff on the cyl 1 bore but nothing serious.

Its been a journey for sure, but time to get rid of this.
    [IMG]#ad

Rabbit hole, commence falling in... Lots of SCH10 SS and hopefully, a simple hotside that has easier plug acess and doesn't every god damn ****ing bump in the road.

So along with the hotside redo, I have always wanted to get a new harness and try my hand at tuning my car. Enter holley terminator X, been messing with the software for a few months and finally pulled the trigger on hardware.
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

And of course, doing some surgery to a brand new harness seemed perfectly logical
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

Gonna be a fun winter getting it all set the way I want it to be.
Wiring, something I have never been great at...
I ordered a sheet of ABS to do the final mount but figured a mock up setup on some scrap wood would work. I give you, this rats nest
So along with the dedicated battery hook up for the PCM itself, I plan to run a direct Hot/Ground to the panel that is fed after the cutoff switch. Those are the red/black buses on each side. Fuse panel in center is a switched ignition hot setup rather than my previous hot all the time.
    [IMG]#ad

Also wanted to bypass all remaining car inputs for starts etc. This was the least cheesy setup I could find. Igntion hot, then a bump start setup. Two extra switches will prob be radio and my other misc stuff. (Air comp, line lock, air valves)
    [IMG]#ad

That switch panel plugs into the PCM board via a old coil pack extension harness
    [IMG]#ad

I will prob verify car starts, and runs prior to finalizing board.

That's a solid build man. 138 is some serious mph, hopefully you get everything connected and throw down some single digit passes.

Tonight's project was swapping out pressure senders.. did I have the right size for oil pressure? Nope, off to harbor freight since its walking distance away
    [IMG]#ad

    Fuel pressure installed
    [IMG]#ad

OEM oil pressure sender removed and replaced. Can now have PCM kill igniton if oil pressure drops. Excite
    [IMG]#ad

Slowly been labeling, removing and organizing the underside mess. Years of hack jobs by yours truly have made quite the mess. Prob stash coil packs on the tunnel inside around where I have the one laying.
    [IMG]#ad

Got the DS all done and tacked up. Pretty excited for how its all working out.
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

Now, to find a PS2 and rig it so I can play need for speed while driving.

    [IMG]#ad

Hopefully no more hissing, crackling, and lousy sounding noise thru speakers
So it works, sorta. Had wired it via stock power/key on, and had no power at plug. Fuses had power and at that point said F it. Will be wiring that to the Holley board as well. Hotwired it to verify speakers and head unit worked.
    [IMG]#ad

Pax side all done with tack up and fitting
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

    We getting close now
Hotside almost all tacked up, next up is wastegate, turbo mount, and some downpipe support
4in downpipe and assorted hotside pics.

And off the car ready to be drilled/ground/tig'd. Really happy with how this went from a pile of SCH10 SS parts to this.
    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

Now that hotside is off car, started to chip away at remaining mechanical stuff that needs to be updated.
Started with the PS high line, was a straight off the rack and now its 90* for a tighter hug to rack
    [IMG]#ad

Then we took a turn for the worse...
    [IMG]#ad

Apparently ordered a 92-93 OBD1 timing cover set which had the splined opti so the only seal I needed.. was MIA.
But 10 bucks later and a drive thru hell, got the correct set and got this bad boy on
    [IMG]#ad

Water pump and rad lines back on, ready for coolant. Slowly getting more things crossed off the list.

Degreased the hotside, then power washed it all, ready for welding.

Then, kicked off the day of wiring and fell on into things. Made a panel to hold the ignition panel and fuel gauge
