I just built my very budget minded 1st turbo car and first wanted to thank everyone for the answer to a lot of questions I had during the build.Its not pretty but I think it will end up running decent.I started with a stock 454 bbc.I ball honed it and diamond stoned the block and head surfaces for as good a seal as I could get from home.It is stock crank,rods etc.I bought a summit ring,bearing and gasket kit.I used stock style 781 oval port heads with some summit headbolts.I bought a summit cam that had more lobe separation in the 500 range.Im using a BWs475 turbo I bought from VSracing and made my own headers,and all tubing.I welded everything with a Lincoln powermig255.All my pipe and pipe for wastegate,blowoff vavle is mild steel.Im running a spectre carb hat I bought from summit and run my magnafuel boost ref reg port to that.I also run a 5inch downpipe with a bung welded about 12-13 inches from turbo to keep from melting o2 sensor.I run a quickfuel 850 annular blow through carb.The wastegate and blow off valve are ebay cheapies..

cool rig how does it run??

 

im in Indiana so we so the weather isn't that good.I wont get a track run until the spring but im doing a lot of driving and I honestly believe it will run as fast if not faster than my 13to1 496 did.I ran 9.6 on engine only with the 496 and on 12 pounds of boost the car pulls harder in 2 and 3rd for sure.First gear is close but after that the turbo takes over in my opinion..I was leaving at 5k with the 496 so the leave I wouldn't think is going to be anywhere close to as good for the turbo engine since im going to run a 3.55 gear compared to a 4.88.After 1st the turbo will shine but until I go down the track its hard to tell...

I wish it wouldn't of taken me so long to get it done.Our tracks are pretty much done since we are getting some 20 degree days and are supposed to have a real cold spell on the way..it will be spring before any slips..

 

Got a dyno you could get to. Get her fined tuned and a video would be a BONUS!
