Brace PT88 on B&G hotside?

    Brace PT88 on B&G hotside?

    Going to switch from my MPT70 to a Precision PT88 and is wondering if the hotside need to be braced with the new turbo?

    I know B&G say it will be good for a T76 whitout any support..

    You guys that have supported your hotside, how have you done?

    I'm running solid motormounts btw

    IMHO brace it. It doesnt hurt anything to support the turbo.

    I would support it if possible, it's amazing how much more weight the 80mm + turbo's are. Not tomention it'll help out when your wheels come back to earth at the track :2thumbs:

    You will have to modify the downpipe with that 88mm. I am sure you know that already. If you make a brace make sure to take some pics.

    Going to make a new downpipe... 4"


    Hasn't anyone put a PT88 on a BG hotside in a SN95 car so I know atleast it will fit under the hood?

    You can make it fit - you might have to lower the flange (cut it off and lower it on the header) - this will mean notching the frame rail - this will make changes to the DP necessary - but your are changing that anyway.

    Check in with mustangbrad94gt - he is putting a Turbonetics mid-frame 82mm on his 94gt and it will fit under the hood - should be about the same size as a PT-88 - but he has a boost brother's hotside (turbo sits in the same spot though)
