Curious to what you guys think about this idea. Using a second fuel rail with 4 more injectors, but using 4 hobbs pressure switches to kick on the injectors. Tap into the positive wire on the injector wiring harness to get the 12v signal for each hobbs switch, and this would let the extra injector on each runner fire along with the stock one.
Would this work? Just a random thought while at work. It would be cheaper than standalone or an AIC module. The switches are $15/each or so and injectors are cheap from the junkyard.

Unless the ECM has peak and hold injector drivers this may overload the ECM. Typically the power wire for the injectors is a switched ignition source, and the ECM pulses the injector ground wire.

Yep. This is pretty crude but has been done before. The advantage of cold start injectors is that they are designed to spray fuel all over instead of in a targeted "squirt gun" pattern. It's a rather crude approach; the added fuel is constant while the airflow goes up with RPM. It won't get the job done "right", but can work if you just need to get 'er done.

At one time I was going to turbo a Jeep Wrangler and try this method. I was going to use more than one injector and have a separate pressure switch for each one. It would be a crude "progressive" system. As boost comes up it would pick up more injectors.
