I have side pipes after the turboS. It sounds like a bad A 4 cylinder on each side. Would a balance pipe between the sides help with sound without hurting performance? It would be 20 inches after O2s. O2s are 18" after turbos. No muffs.

We played around with this a bit at work and came up with:

At the minimum you could use a normal sized balance pipe, sound would still sound like a bad 4 cylinder.

Better would be routing both turbo discharges to a large under-body pipe (squashed 4" diameter for packaging under the vehicle (where it packages the best) and then after the exhaust has some distance (3 feet) to merge the sound pulses/exhaust, send it to both sides of the vehicle before the tires. (The exhaust pulses need to merge the sound together.)
