Made it to the chassis dyno today to see what the new header, 3.5" DP and turbo would do.

It made 37 more rwhp (296 vs 259) and 36 more rwtq (381 vs 345).... I know it has 300 in it.

Bad new is it has a miss over 4100 rpm and the motor would not go past that.

I put new plugs rn9yc gapped at .024, new points, condensor, cap, rotor, set timing at 20* total, 10gph meth jet, 100% meth, >50% 110/93 octane mix.

The coil has a little more resistance than it should have .7 (spec) vs 1.0 primary and 4.5(spec) vs 6.5. Would this cause it? maybe my MSD is bad...it is an old unit from the 80's..msd 7A gold box.

On the bottom you can see the boost ramping up and the AFR held pretty close to 10.5 to 10.75 for most of the run.

Those graphs are pointing upwards pretty good, going to be cool to see what it makes once you get that miss sorted. Is that turbo the billet wheel one?

From what i understand those turbos thrive at really high boost pressures, how far are you going to push it? Didnt you have a copper head gasket and o ringed block? :D

I do have a copper head gasket and o-ringed block. I plan on trying more boost but right now its at 22ish. Need to find this miss first!! :bang:

Thats what I was thinking I do not believe the points have enough spark for boost!

I'm going to try and close the gap a little...how much do you guys think? They are at .024 now.

The points are only the trigger. I have a MSD 7A on the car now. I'm thinking of using an electronic ignition dist for the trigger.

The points are probably bouncing. Electronic dizzy is the way to go.

I'm leaning that way. Don't forget, the 6 has 25% less firings than an 8 so there is more time for the points to return.

They are new but could be china crap...I could not find where they were mfg and they were my only choice.

I was thinking of closing the plug gaps since that is free.

They should work alright. They came out of the highland park labs from back in the days.

I think I found the problem...to rich. I took some jet out of the 2ndarys and it seems fine. Tried to go to the dyno today to see if I could break 300 but they were busy. I'll try again next week.

The track was perfect today except for a 15 mph headwind.

    Best pass:
    60' 1.853
    1/8 7.982 @ 93.39mph
    1/4 12.32 @ 110.25mph :D
    22psi of boost

I turned up the boost controller 1 turn and blew an intercooler hose off but got these #s
    60' 1.89
    1/8 7.982 @ 95.31
    1/4 12.79 @ 87.04

This thing has taken alot of abuse over the last 2 years and keeps on going!! :cowboy:

Congrats, great times!! The 1/4 mph seems low for the 1/8th mph though.. I'd think 94 at half track should be good for like 116-17ish at the finish, does it seem to pull hard all the way through? My car went 90 and 111ish usually, my dads 440 Challenger goes 89 and 109....

I'll have to check with some of the other racers to see if thet get the same differences 1/8 vs 1/4. I got a simular spread in 2007. The car seems to pull ok but 1st and 2nd seem to be the best. It could be the motor is running out of stream and I could use less rear gear. I have not had it back to the dyno since fixing the miss and probably won't. That was a problem I had with the 3.23. The car has a 2.94 in it now.

    Explorer5.0, the car is a 1970 dart swinger 225 / 6
