It has been a while since ive posted up here last...anywho...my 97 metro build was completed using a g13ba suzuki ( think samurai 8v) buit with gti rods, d16 honda spec 75mm vitaras, acl bearings, std crank, 226*@.050" cam, fairly radical head porting, mls gasket, hd head hardware, custom intake i did with a gm eaton m90 fed by a 2300 holley 350cfm 2bbl on e85...it was quite impresive but a 90" blower on a 90" engine draws a awfull amount of power up top...i averaged 10-12lbs boost on a daily basis but the combo has seen 18-20 lbs on several occasions...and i did nearly 8000 miles on the blown combo with zero drama.

In an effort to increase efficiancy and battleing with my automotive attention deficit hyperactivity shit, ive gone to a blowthrough cv carbed, .42/.48 t3 50 trim wheels, setup on the same long block-plus a msd6al2 programmable, to see how she goes... figured id share some pics.

laugh away....im going for 200hp or bust. i think ill better that easily and have plans to do so at 20lbs boost and some unical 114...mind you this car weighs 1900 or there abouts so power to weight is favorable. as is fuel economy..

last pics are that of the blown combo, the rest are current mock up pics...with the fab work nearing completion..enjoy

Interesting build :) Certainly different! Lets see how it does on the drag strip! haha. What fuel economy you getting out of it?

I like it, both setups are cool. I think it would be quite a sleeper because who would ever suspect that setup in that car :2thumbs:.

The bastardization of engine parts to make it work is awesome. 200 horsies in a metro should be fairly lethal on the street, they don't really weigh that much. Bet it sounds wicked too.

    thanks for the words!

it has been a blast and probably ran mid 13s on the blown combo. handeling is awsome and fuel economy-blown, with a/fs hovering between 11-13:1-was always in the 20s and best of 31 mpg on the last trip to phx i took in it. thats with like 58 primaries and a 48 squirter on the 50cc reo pump...it used some fuel on e85.

the gti rods are very stout and closely resemble toyota 4agze rods, and the d16 honda guys have pushed over 600 on these cheapie vitara slugs..the cam is a custom grind from a canadian source, and is speced at 226*@.050 and .395 lobe. it is real lumpy and the car skips around at a 1500rpm idle. lots of cam lope.. 8) the head has stock valve sizes, but has a nice 3 angle valve job, and has been very radically ported, with water passages filled and ported on the exhaust side...nothing i have found documented comes close the the amount of work ive performed on the samurai/metro 8v head...turd polishing at its finest....i started with slant 6 chryslers so this is fitting. im talkin 30 hrs porting on this dam thing..! suzuki g 13 and g16 blocks are tough as nails so sleeves, even with the open deck are no real concern.

ive got maybe 3g into the car out of my pocket including picking the car up and driving it home with a broken piston skirt for 400$ everything else is salvage yard specials. nice thing about suzuki is interchangability...5 different heads including the gti and gt dohc, will bolt right up. the track/kick g16 1.6 stuff readily interchange as well. there are everal 300+ hp swifts running around out there and even a couple 400+ drag cars. great engineering and these little engines that can are tough as nails. my 200 hp goal should totally be feasable, and i may be the most powerful 8v zuki in the world-in the process (DOCUMENTED) anyway..

and here was a m62 lpg sami i had....i love that boost

:corn: Watching this one! I think I remember seeing vids of the blown samurai tearing down dirt roads on bbs.zuwharrie (those vids stuck in my memory for years). I've been tossing around ideas like yours for the past few years. I wanna get back into the samurai thing. I couldn't afford the turbomustang thing any more. The amount of money I spent on that could've been a formidable samurai. This thread is awesome. :2thumbs:

PS I'm in gilbert az. Maybe oneday I'll have to check your stuff out. Maybe when you come to town for some 1/4 mile times

couple updates on my slow build...car is fully gutted inside, new tracker big port, big valve 16v head, minimal bowl work, same cv setup on a new intake i fabed, reflanged previous header for new head flange, open gate dump and down pipe, also a custom lumpy fucker of a cam from mike cove...should be pretty serious..im guessing 300hp at 30+lbs is acheiveable...maybe not with this small compressor, but the combo is there...

are you going to be using pitot tubes for the carbs? Are they slide or CV? I'd be interested to know the jet changes it takes and also how cruise A/F's turn out. Great build :2thumbs:

The big black hat on top of each carb houses the constant velocity slide diaphragm and spring.
