Before I slap this motor together I need some input. It started as a budget build but I passed that awhile ago... '69 010 350 4 bolt standard deck block bored .40 over. I have a callies comet crank standard 3.480 stroke. Eagle H beam 5.7 rods. I believe its a custom roller cam, lift on 1.5 rockers at intake is 640 and exhaust 640 Lift on 1.6 intake is 683 and exhaust is 683, Intake @0.50 275 and exhaust 279. Brodix Track 1 heads, I believe 67cc (calling tomorrow to double check). 750 blow through E85 Quick Fuel carb. Cheap ebay single gt45 turbo set up Really I want to know if i should stay at the 5.7 rod or jump to 6". Stay at the .40 over or bore larger before ordering pistons..I cant find any turbo pistons in the 9.5:1-10:1 compression so I believe ill be custom ordering Diamond Pistons in the next day or two.

Any input is appreciated, any parts to change, different set up to do, etc.

a gt45 seems a little small for your combo id look at a s475

i leave as much meat in the cylinders as i could

Thank you, ill look into something larger right now. How much boost should I look at into running?

is start at a couple psi and work your way up tuning as you go

I agree with M&M. I had a 357ci (3.5 stroke/4.030 bore) with a 69 block , Motown 220 heads, l2441 speed pro pistons/H beams, with the wrong cam and it made 639.7RWHP at 18 psi with an S475. That was a good running combo.

Do you think I should use the whole cheap ebay kit scrapping the gt45 turbo and slapping on an adapter plate and run a larger turbo. Or screw that whole kit, buy a larger turbo, mock up intercooler set up, exhaust, blow off valve, etc?!

IMO, screw the kit, just build what you need. I ran a 50mm BOV and Wastegate on mine. I flipped a set of shorties and did the hotside that way.

What turbo timer? Not to sound like an idiot but thats what you adjust your amount of boost on, correct..

Is an inner cooler needed if im running e85? Ive read people say they would never not then others say e85 is cool enough and theyve never ran one on any of their vehicles...

I ran mine on 110 race gas with no intercooler. It never was a problem. I controlled my boost level with a restrictor in the Wastegate line with a bleeder tee'd off between the restrictor and Wastegate. Worked like a charm.

Dude you need a cam change! That thing is ridiculous for a turbo.

Turbo wise a regular old s475 would work well. Another option would be to talk to VSracing about one of their billet s480's they sell.

I'd keep the 5.7 H beams and put a decent forged flat top in it if you're planning on running on e85 ;)

VSracing also sells a T4 7875 turbo that would suit too.

I wouldn't worry about an intercooler on a blow through carb e85 deal.

I recieved the cam with the rest of the top end and a few other odds and ends for next to nothing. Youre saying its way too large then? Ordering custom diamond pistons later this week...

    For strip/street around a 242/242 @ .050 .022 lash cam. Subtract 5-6 degrees if it's a tight lash lobe.
Call Cammotion for a cam. Get the billet core with the iron? gear option. whatever street gear they use....
There's 3 stock turbines you can get. 83, 87, 96 mm on a BW 1.1 or 1.32 ar housings. You can get a .90 too but that would be for street only 15 psi or so. They cost more so you never see them.
    For a strip setup I'd go with the box S480 std cover @ $900 w/1.32 T6 96 mm.
For street only, I'd go with the 75/83 T6. - and a 230/224 HR cam.
    A 76/87 1.1 T6 is in the middle.

Since you're block limited, all you need is a 2.25 crossover. It will spool faster and bigger isn't needed for your power limit.
Guys have made 1200+ on a 2.5 sch 40 pipe log so 2.25 is plenty.

Awesome man I appreciate it!!! Picked up my pistons, manifolds and have my turbo on its way! Ill get ahold of them and have em make me a cam. Trying to get this done soon. Im itching to see what kind of power I can pull out of this. Dont have much longer till I head to the sand dunes and line up with everyone..

-4 oil feed, need filtered oil to the turbo - all bypasses removed or blocked
-12 oil drain, tube 90's only, no sharp 90 machined fittings
-12 catch can to both valve covers
exh - same size as port necked down to 1 3/4 max. 1 5/8 preferred. 1 1/2 will work at stk block power limit.
5" down pipe, need to order v band for a BW.
Probably need two air filters -
RacePartSolutions has it all. They've supported this site forever.
