safe rpm limit for a mild 302

    you guys have always come thru for me even thou my ride is a blow thu blower car and I thank each and every one of you that have taken the time to help me out ,with your help ive tuned the car myself and runs great ,which brings me to one last question ,my ranger has a 1987 h.o 302 with gt 40 heads 303 cam 1.7 rockers making 9 pounds of boost turbo 400 with mvb 3000 ptc converter 8.8 with 327 gears posi caltracs,nittos555 heading to the 1/8th mile track fri for the first time , what would be a safe rpm to run it up to and still bring it home in one piece lol thanks agin for your help:banana:

    With stock bottom end and depending on the temp outside I would go past 5500 were your afr at in high rpm?

    6000rpm if you want the engine to last a little while. That doesn't mean it won't self destruct just less likely to.

    Have you dyno it if it doesn't pull past that I would stop there you should peak around that rpm anyway

    no I haven't dynode it, just been back and forth with kevin at csu he told me where to set timing and afrs where im at at idle and cruise and wot he said its as close as im gonna get, just don't want to over rev it for little gain took a long time to get it this far want to enjoy it for a while befor building another motor lol, want to keep this alive while I build another snowball lol have a line on a cobra motor cheap from my boss here goes agin lol so keep it around 5500

    I usually try to shift mine at 6, but it's spun the tires and hit 7000 more than once...:afraid2:

    15 psi and it didn't nose over at all,felt fine.

    My old N2O combo was shifted at 7500 all the time.
