hello i tried to use the search button but fail to find something. My car is 80%street will be 20% track by next year want to get rear done before it goes boom so my question is what size gear will work better. i know u need load to help turbo. My first shop said my 3.73 will work fine.. went to a diff speed shop n they said 4.10 would make it 1 well of a street car in 1,2 gear..I've read on this and many other forums that stock to about 3.55 gears would work great at a strip but what about an overall street car. Im still running on stock 17 inch rims i really don't know if that matters or not. if anything i will be getting 17*10.5 in the back. any other info you have please share so my knowledge can grow

We need a little more info. What trans, I am assuming stock tire height, how much power are you looking to make? I can give you a range of 3.08-3.55. With more info we will narrow it down for you.

 

3.55's will work the best all around for your setup

 

^ great thanks. Here is the info its a 5 speed tko-600.. yes stock tire height. right now car is at 450/460 rwhp/tq shooting for 500-600hp range

 

Yeah I would stay there. Not quite the power for 3.2x gears

 

My car is only a 3.08 for my old cobra and would ha e loved a 3.55 with 275s on it. Go with 3.55s not numerically higher than that.
