I'm mounting the battery in the trunk. the only leads that need to go forward outside the body are the Power lead for the starter and the main ground. I'm using terminal lug bulkhead fittings. I'm thinking wire size either needs to be 1/0 or 2/0.
    What would be the suggestions?

The bigger the better, I've used 2/0 without issues, my current car has 4 gauge from battery to starter, which is how I got it, I have plans to upgrade later but it starts just fine so far, I do have a mini hi torque starter so I'm sure that helps.
