Hello everyone, I am wondering if custom cams would be worth much on a 2003 cobra with a basic long block set up, 8:5:1 piston c/r, stock 2001 cobra intake, lightly ported heads, precision 76/75 with .96 ar. Just debating on if its worth the time and money... thanks for input

Boost around 17-19 93 pump, 22-25 E85, goals 800 wheel hp on E85. Play car mostly driven short trips and will hit the 1/8th track sometimes. I put around 1500 miles each year on car. Car straight axle with 3:73 gears, front coil overs with strange 10 ways on rear, tq box plates. I just play around with it mostly. I would like to pull mid to low 6 passes on 1/8th.

If that is your goal then the cost wouldn’t be worth it. I put down 843rwhp on pump gas at 19psi with oem Cobra cams with twin 61s.

I recently got some deals on parts so my whole build has change. I have a built shortblock coming, its got a filled teksid block .20 over with grp aluminum rods, je piston 11.5 c/r but gonna get a thick gasket to drop it to 10.5. Also got a 82/85mm precision turbo.

Could you describe that a little better. Is it filled only partially or all the way to the deck? Also, the reasoning for whatever level it is filled to. Many thanks.

Its sold at this point. The block was filled up to the deck. Not good for a street car. The aluminum rods are also sold. Also not good for a street car. Live and learn.... I did however get a few good parts out of the block.

Many thanks for the quick answer. Any idea what it was filled with? Block-fill, concrete, or aluminum?
