Just as the title says. One of our members, Chris Spies of mtpturbo has a very well written and informative article in the latest FastestStreetCar magazine. Chris is a M.E. and has penned several articles for the publication. This one is on the Accel Gen VII ecu and gives a great overview. Just wanted to give some props.

    Good job Chris!

    Thanks, Mark.

The DFI piece was a last minute deal so it is a bit rough around the edges, but I think it gives a nice overview of the system in its current form.

If I get a few minutes I'll scan it and post a link.

Wow, Chris, you've come a long way from mounting tires at Super Shops. Great work!

VERY nice article Chris! The Gen 7 is definitely one of the older systems available now, but it is a very well thought-out system that still gives even the latest toys on the market a run for their money. In my opinion, the time this system has been on the market should serve as a testament to its marketability; it would have died a long time ago if it was anything other than first-rate.

Hey guys not to hi-jack your threat but this subject/post has some of the best gen 7 guys on the board period.A buddy of mine had his car dynoed yesterday and was making some good power but in between pulls it kept getting a error 51.As soon as it would get that error it would run like SHIT.What should we look for or is it something in the box????????????Let me know guys,Thanks steve o.

This is only a guess but I would say to look for a short from the wiring harness to ground. Error 51 is the 5v reference out of range which could be caused by a short from a 5v reference wire. When this happens the ecu sets a default value for all affected sensors. I would start another thread on the specific problem.
