so i am building my very first turbo'd engine.
    1100 cc
i am starting to plan the routing for the hot side and i wanted to get the collectors prefab'd to save on noob mistakes.
so im looking at this: parallel

    and this: splayed

and im thinking one might be less turbulent, or more efficient somehow than the other.

so heres my question: is one better? parallel or splayed?
will turbulence even matter since its going to be pressurized to hell?
will one design be less likely to heat unevenly and crack?

is that after the turbo or before it?
    or both?
i worry that the sharp point (on the inside of the collector where they meet in the crotch of the Y) would heat up quicker under pressure and fail faster.
no issues with stress fractures there?

    Both.
I made very sure that the transision is very smooth and almost as sharp as a knife.
Not wanting to hurt flow that way it would not heat up.
But that is my point of fiew, no science involved here.

Doesn't matter either way. I have seen some backyard built gross looking merges and welds perform no different than one that was well put together with a lot of though and detail.

    good to hear thanks.

next i gotta source my turbo.
im thinking a trip to the saab section of the junk yard.
it will be a stock turbo for a 2.0 going onto a 1.1L but that shouldnt be too big of a deal right?

im thinking a stock turbo wont be as needy and persnickety when it comes to oil and maintenance as an aftermarket or performance model.
since im going to have to finegle the oil pump and all
