Hey all, I recently had purchased a 1st gen Lightning about a year ago with huge plans for it. Yet it has not been worked on. Stock 351W, and debating between restoring it or dropping a different motor in it. Along with cosmetic restoration down the road. Any tips or ideas? Open to most ideas

LS SWAP ALL THINGS lol. No in all fairness keep the 351w slap a set of twin s362 borgwarrner on and fab up some sick snaking pop a water to air or air to air on and go show ford how they should have been.

 

I really was thinking of something like an LSX 454 swap and TT that with a set of 62s or a single big 85. My 351w isn't in tip top shape and needs some work before it can hold some boost. But can the stock 351w handle twin s362s? Cause if so that can save me a lot of money instead of doing the swap lol

 

Stock 351w can handle 600-800hp, Why not bore/stroke your 351 into a 427 go forged bottom end and throw the twin s362s on it, save your self on buying a new engine.

 

Well 351w bottom ends are very strong. But here's a cool article I found on these guys pushing a junker 351w passed 1000hp

Even more reason to stick with the 351w

 

Yeah I think that's what I may do, pretty soon I'll start a new thread and post update pics and such. Still not sure if I should do a single big turbo or twins. Decisions decisions

 

Twins are nice, I prefer a single myself
