Well, I guess it's time to do a build thread. This is how it looked when I got started with the BBC in it. I decided to switch up a little and go LSx.

The car is running now and I'm in the tunning phase now. Tell me what you think but be kind.

And so it begins. Just doing some test fits and playing around with different manifold options.

Here is my attempt at using truck manifolds on a 3rd gen. Lets see how it holds up. :welder: I'm just using a F-body manifold on the driver's side.

I had to make a few mods to my gas tank. I also had to make up a new lower radiator hose for my install. The upper is from like a 03 truck or something.

And just like magic all done. I have since put on the BOV, IC, etc. I'm not real happy with all of the wires but I was just ready to get this thing running. I will clean things up later. I hope you enjoyed.

    Very nice!

What size down pipe and some details on the exhaust system? How loud is it?

    Any track results?

These questions are for both cars!

On the 89 I'm running a 3.5" DP and just tied it back into the stock Flow Master muffler. The 69 has a 4" DP that splits into two 3" pipes under the car. It has two Flow Masters mufflers. Both cars are very quiet which I have mixed feelings about. The Flow Masters were on the cars when I started so I kept them on there for now. I'm told that they aren't best choice though. I hope to have track results on the 89 in a few weeks if the tuning goes well.

I am asking because Im in the process of setting up my exh system.

I want mine to be super quiet, like a stocker! I was thinking of one Magnaflow out the back or possibly 2 mufflers in line. I don't want to split up for duals because I think that would be louder.

What size is the exducer? Mine is 3" and I was told there is no need to go with a bigger downpipe than 3" at my hp levels (600 rwhp)

Dynomax ultraflow welded mufflers are pretty dang quiet and Borla ProXS muffler seem to be about the quietest. Go ahead and do dual exhaust (y-pipe). The key to having the exhaust quiet is to NOT put the muffler at the end of the exhaust, tailpipes are very important. The farther the muffler from the tips the better.

Nice swap! I'll be doing the same LQ4 in a 3rd gen this year, likely with the same turbo as well.

What are you running for the fuel system?
    Dual pumps?
What did you do for the regulator?
    Injectors?
Are you running the 0411 pcm?
