Most effecient placement of knock sensor on "V series" motors.

Seems since I've added a powerglide to my 231 buick v6, the knock sensor is giving me false readings. Sensor is located at the very aft of the block centered with the manifold. Right where the trans bolts up to the block.

Is there a better place I can stick this thing? Preferably as far from the transmission as possible?

    Thanks
