I will admit I didn't originally intend on making this thread but as I accumulate pics for the owner I wanted to share them with others so maybe they can get some useful ideas or just kill some downtime while at work. So forgive me if the pics aren't perfect.

The car is an 02 TA, long story short the guy bought the car used with a 402ci motor which ended up being junk. It has been sitting in his garage for quite a while on jackstands, and recently i offered to help him out with the labor so we can get the car back on the road. Build will be a SBE 5.3, Huron Speed 78/75 kit, locally built 4l80e, Circle D triple disc converter, and a Moser rear.

He drug the car over on a trailer, and first thing's first me and JR start pulling crap we dont need. We pulled all the underhood stuff that was easily accessible, including cruise, TCS, brake and fuel lines, ABS module, AIR pump.

While this isnt gonna be a full on race car, it isnt gonna be a full on street car either. The goal is somewhere in between for now. So bye bye fender supports.

    [IMG]#ad

    [IMG]#ad

Intercoolers take up space, everything up front fights for air. If you've seen my build thread you know I like doing my own thing. So he decided to let me hack away and do dual rear mounted trans coolers. So bye bye TTop well.

    [IMG]#ad

Replaced it with some 16g sheet metal, used seam sealer and some bolts to lock it in, and shot it with some paint for now. We may go back and add carpet later.

    [IMG]#ad

Two trucool coolers about 11x11 and 2 10 inch fans.

    [IMG]#ad

These will be plumbed with -6AN and split before and after the coolers so they are running in a parallel circuit.

2006 L33 with 131k on it. New GM waterpump, UD pulley. Lots of scrubbing and black paint.

    [IMG]#ad

    LS9 gaskets, ARP studs.

    [IMG]#ad

BTR springs cam and whatnot. Also has a C5R chain, damper, and Melling HP pump inside.

    [IMG]#ad

    Stock LS6 intake and TB.

    [IMG]#ad

    Valve covers get some love.

    [IMG]#ad

Looks pretty nice.....the owner's request was as much low key as you can, nothing flashy.

    [IMG]#ad

Turbo drain and feed line done.

    [IMG]#ad

    Stock fuel system.......gone!

BMR turbo k member and lots of other random shit I gotta wade through.

    [IMG]#ad

    Stock front suspension removed.

    [IMG]#ad

Rear driver's side PCV bung. It will be -10AN.

    [IMG]#ad

Rear passenger side PCV, notice I had to trim the coil pack bracket some. Also, these are bulkhead fittings but I dont use the supplied plastic washers, use orings, it will seal better. Old oil pump orings fit great.

    [IMG]#ad

Dual 450 pumps installed. -8 feed, -6 return.

    [IMG]#ad

Moser 9 inch, narrowed, aluminum center, 3.25 gears, 35 spline, 1/2" studs etc

    [IMG]#ad

Return line done, feed line up to the firewall where we are gonna split it and dual feed the rails. New rear brake line made.

    [IMG]#ad

    Little top plate mockup

    [IMG]#ad

Had just a touch of paint left, not enough to do under the hood so that will have to wait.

    [IMG]#ad

    Catchcan mounted.

    [IMG]#ad

Intercooler painted. Notice my fancy paintbooth.

    [IMG]#ad

Test fitting rear wheels over stock brakes. Need to determine whether we need drag brakes or can get away with trimming. Still on the 10 bolt in this pic.

I figure, why lower a 400 pound motor onto a k member when i can lift the 25 pound k member to the motor.

The entire garage is filled with aluminum brake caliper dust. The good news is there is some caliper left.
    [IMG]#ad

Mounted, done, and at ride height. Rear suspension is also installed and adjusted.
    [IMG]#ad

Waiting on rails for this. Its the fatass model. Everyone who sits in it slides around

Yeah, your going to be there a while!
Don't think it's going to be near 18 qts tho. What size converter did you go with again?
You couldn't get a dip stick to fit?
