OK guys, I am posting this here to find out a simple answer to a simple question.

Can I take a STOCK DRUM BRAKE rear end from a 91 mustang LX 5.0 and put it into my 99 DISC BRAKE GT ?

Remove the stock 99 gt rear and install the fox drum brake rear.

Is it a direct bolt in besides the brakes? I am not worried about the dampening shock that mounts horizontal. I want to know about the rear shocks and mounting points?

    what are the advantages/disadvantages?

And don't mention brakes cause I am not worried about having to redo the brake system.
I am going to have to do that anyways because the 99 has traction control and ABS.

They are both 8.8 rear ends. One is 2.73 locker (fox body), and the other is 3.27 locker (new edge)..

I plan to swap to 3.55 gears anyways because the car will have a 6.0 with single turbo going thru a glide and a pro fogger nitrous kit.

    :hand:

ok. Will I just need a different offset of a wheel or will I actually have to mini-tub the car?

I am wanting to run a DEEP DISH style of a wheel... I love the looks of them.

The wheels I have now just don't cut it for me.

Not to mention the slicks I have are just too big and I don't want to trim the fenders or roll them just to make a temporary slick fit.

Will also work with out mini tubs
a stock length foxbody is 3in shorter overall .
you will get aprox 3/8 between inner frame rail & tire with 15x10 w 6.5 bs.

I have that exact wheel size. that viewable rear area is a cool idea. Is there a panel that just slips over that for easy concealment or does it stay open? I like that, that's the perfect place to put a gopro for examining rear end movement under launch..

what engine are you putting in it?

I am looking to use the 6.0 LS engine and a single turbo, probably 70 or 76mm.

I am still chasing down an oil pan swap kit but some guys are using an LS1 pan instead of the H3 pan kit numbered 19212593.

I am not certain as to just how big of a difference there is in these two pans, but apparently there is a large difference because of
people being willing to pay double and then some for the LS1 pan kit.
