in the process of setting up the plates in my car. Mini tubbed foxbody dart 363 turbo. 28x10.5 tires and a th400. Should end up making close t0 1000 rwhp when it’s all said and done. Going to run 3.08 gearing to keep the rpm down on the highway. Was wondering how the stock location works out with plates. Trying to decide if I should just order solid mounts to get the engine and tranny located and then install the plates or is it worth lowering and setting back?

It would be a good idea to mock everything up to see how it’s all gonna fit in stock location before moving it back and down How low is your oil pan?

Right now I have it just roughed in there and it’s going to be close to the rack. I had to carve out a spot on the mid plate for the steering column to fit.I’m Still waiting on the steering rack bushings and I ordered the solid mounts just to see how much I would gain by moving it from stock location.. going to use the offset bushings and lower the rack. Right now I think I have the car flat enough. All within .6 to .0 of a degree depending on where I put the level on it. Is .6 too much? Also I what is the best way to find the centerline of the car. foxbody centerlines are offset to the passenger side right? I want to say it was 3/4” or something?
