Building a 85 camaro with a turbo. The ecu and maf are stock. The motor is pretty well built, AFR 195, turbo cam from comp, forged internals, hsr manifold, 60-1 turbo 10-12 psi. Lookin to put 500 hp to the tires, but I'm concerned about the stock ecu and maf limiting it.
    Thanks for all your help.

Without at least a chip and larger injectors, 350-ish hp at best (and that assumes a corvette ecu and 24 lb injectors).

If you are willing to get some one to do a chip, and install larger injectors, it can likely be made to run OK driving around (and at WOT) with the existing MAF. The ECU has a maf flow limitation of 255 g/s, but you can enter articifically high values in the WOT A/f tables to allow it to do ok under boost. If you do this, from boost onset until boost setpoint it will be VERY rich with low timing. This is workable for a drag car, not so pleasant on the street. You could install two maf meters (one as a dummy orifice), and then the chip could be done with some work-arounds to make this perform OK. You willl likely pay the tuner (I would certainly charge more) for the chip for this solution.

You have the option of converting to a later SD ecu, and running updated code for boost, but by the time you have done this, your money would have been better spent on other options (like an MS2 or microssquirt).

Regardless of the solution you choose, larger injectors will be a requirement.
